Spouse
Spouse is José Ayerve, Naomi Hamby, Ken Maiuri, Don McAulay, Michael Merenda, JJ O’Connell, Kevin O’Rourke, Dan Pollard, and Mark Schwaber, with the occasional appearance by founding member Alisha Goldblatt. We’ve been around in some incarnation or other, since 1995. Spouse is a rock band. We make songs that we hope sound distinct from one another. People say we sound like the Replacements, Pixies, and Pavement. Lately, we’ve been hearing that we sound a bit like the Cure. Anyway you call it, we are entrenched in the indie rock popularized by the aforementioned bands in the early 90’s. But we don’t want you to think of us as retro, rather, we consider ourselves much more of a continuation of that style of rock that emerged while we were all learning how to be a band. |
